Mathematical Development in the Foundation Phase

Objectives

This course will offer participants:
• Practical ways in which to promote positive attitudes to mathematics among young children;
• Advice on how to promote mathematical understanding through play;
• A chance to consider an appropriate balance between child initiated learning and focused teaching in mathematics; and
• Practical ways in which to engage and challenge all learners.
