Supporting Phonemic Awareness

Objectives

Course participant will have the opportunity to:

• Consider the progression of children’s developing awareness and discrimination of sounds
• Reflect on the experiences that children need to develop their phonemic awareness
• Further their understanding of how to assess children’s development in this area
• Share examples of practical activities to promote phonemic awareness
