Implementing the Foundation Phase in Years 1 and 2:

Observation and Assessment

Objectives

Course participants will have the opportunity to:

• Consider the importance of observation and explore the links between observation and assessment
• Consider WAG guidance on observation
• Develop strategies and skills for observing children
• Look at case studies that highlight effective practice
• Acquire practical tips to ensure that observation is manageable and realistic
