Relationships and the Environment

Objectives

This course will offer participants:
• The opportunity to consider why a child needs close and individual nurturing from one or two key carers when away from parents;
• An exploration into particular aspects of a child’s understanding that affect their behaviour in the first four years (e.g. Theory of Mind/egocentricity);
• The opportunity to consider the provision of everyday experiences rather than ‘activities’ for this age group, and ways to build on what the child already knows and can do;
• A chance to consider the importance of playing out of doors for this age group; and
• Practical advice on how to assess your own provision and practice.
