Course led by: Glenda Dudley and Wendy Thomas

If you’re confident and secure with your continuous and enhanced provision and have a clear understanding of your role within the Foundation Phase then this could be the course for you. We will be examining the next steps for schools that are moving on with FP provision by looking at new ways in which to embed and extend your practice.
 

Objectives

Course participants will have the opportunity to:

• Consider the progress made to date and the successful changes to practice
• Debate the current ‘burning issues’ and challenges
• Refine elements of practice to ensure that learning experiences remain fresh and engaging
• Give consideration to planning that is responsive and supportive, taking account of the needs and interest of learners
• Refine and extend the practitioner’s skills of observation and assessment
• Improve the quality of ‘challenges and provocations’ that we offer children
• Address the impact that the Foundation Phase will have on learning beyond Year 2
