Developing numeracy skills using a range of multi-sensory and practical ideas

Objectives

This course will offer participants the opportunity to:
• Talk and think about books as a base for planning mathematical activities;
• Consider the theories /research into the place of mathematics in the early years;
• Discuss the functioning of the brain;
• Explore emotional intelligence;
• Consider a range of multi-sensory resources;
• Share practical applications e.g. Storytelling, mindmapping, speed drawing; and
• Develop ideas to use indoors and outdoors.
