Description

This is a practical, hands-on course, where you will have the opportunity to ‘stock-up’ on ideas, games, and activities to inspire and fire the imagination.

Participants will take part in movement, drama and creative storymaking in a supportive and friendly environment – please wear comfortable clothing.

No previous experience of drama, movement, or music is necessary.

Objectives

The focus of this course will include:

• Learning some new, lively songs and movement games to take back and use immediately in the setting;
• Participating in creative story enactments, and learning how to structure sessions simply, in order to develop these ideas further in your own practice;
• Considering when and how drama, movement & music can fit into the nursery day, and the different ways in which it can support transitions, positive behaviour and routines; and
• Opportunities for practitioners to reflect on their own practice and setting, and make links to Flying Start and the Foundation Phase.

Sessions are planned to meet the needs of participants with different levels of knowledge and experience.
