Creating Learning Profiles

Description

The nature of Foundation Phase practice means that there is less paper-based evidence of children’s learning. There are however, many ways to capture and record significant progress. This course will explore the different ways in which children can demonstrate their learning through ‘Performances of Understanding.’ A range of practical approaches in reporting to parents and other professionals will also be considered during the day.

Objectives

Course participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Explore the concept of a learning profile
  • Focus on the day-to-day aspects of assessment that are most likely to make a difference to children’s learning
  • Consider different techniques for tracking children’s learning
  • Consider the emotional impact of assessment
  • Develop strategies for giving effective feedback to children and parents
