Description

With a full curriculum it can be difficult to include themes of seasonal interest and days of celebration in a meaningful way. This course offers practitioners a model that brings key ideas together, and enables different celebrations and points of focus throughout the year to be more fully appreciated. Whether you are in an inner-city or a rural school, this course will capture your imagination and help you to see the potential in longer term themes. Full of tips and ideas to motivate you and the children you support!

Course participants will have the opportunity to:

• Explore a model for planning that ties key celebrations and themes together

• Consider a wide range of ideas to promote and support cultural awareness

• Develop a theme that is re-visited throughout the year with a wide range of age groups

• Hone their skills of questioning and enquiry within a thematic approach

• Consider the rich opportunities that the community environment offers
