As our name implies we actively work in partnership with you by offering the courses and support that you request. We believe that by working together we can improve and build on the practice that already serves our children and young people in schools and settings. We have close links with Local Authorities in Wales and we are always interested in your ideas, needs and views.
You, our partners, can use The Learning Centre for any of the following purposes:
- To attend courses that we run
- As a venue for whole school staff away days for INSET to meet specific training and resourcing needs
- As a venue for professional meetings, for example, All Wales Strategic Group Meetings
- As a professional space for individual staff to spend PPA time either researching or resourcing for their individual/school´s requirements
- As a meeting place for professionals to enjoy time and space to reflect on their practice by using our professional library, resource area and coffee shop
- As a venue for some retail therapy with an educational focus!
Whatever your needs, we are interested in making your time at The Learning Partnership productive and rewarding.
Partnership with Service Children’s Education
Here at the Learning Partnership, we aim to work closely with education and childcare providers. Our most recent partnership has been with Service Children’s Education (SCE) which is dedicated to the education of the children of Service families and MOD personnel serving outside of the United Kingdom. At the beginning of February, we provided three days of training in Germany to support them in the management and implementation of the new curriculum for Early Years. Teachers, support staff and senior leaders attended the training which received a very positive response.
‘The training was excellent, very professional, inspiring and yet realistic. You make a great team!’ Headteacher, SCE School
The partnership involves a return visit to Wales, which will include further training and an opportunity to see excellent practice in action through visits to a number of Welsh schools and settings.
