Objectives

Course participant will have the opportunity to:

• Consider why listening to the youngest learners is both possible and important
• Consider the national and international context for work in the birth to five age range
• Reflect on how they listen to the youngest children
• Share action research projects from two local authorities
• Examine what we hear as practitioners – reflecting on voice of the youngest children
• Focus on changes that can be made to promote nurturing environments
